What can I do with the ConductorOne Microsoft Teams app?

Use ConductorOne’s Microsoft Teams app to interact directly with ConductorOne without leaving Microsoft Teams. Once the ConductorOne Microsoft Teams app is installed for your workspace, you and your colleagues can:

• Track your open requests for access and get notified about progress
• Get notified when an open access request needs your approval
• Approve or deny access requests without leaving the Teams interface
• Receive notifications if a connector has a sync issue or a significant drop in synced resources
• Request new access without leaving the Teams interface

Set up the ConductorOne MS Teams app for your organization

This task requires the Admin role in the Microsoft directory you’re connecting and the Super Administrator role in ConductorOne.

Step 1: Install the ConductorOne app

1. In the Microsoft Teams app marketplace, navigate to the ConductorOne app or search for “ConductorOne” and download the app.

Optional: Add the app to a Teams policy

If desired, you can add the ConductorOne app to your organization’s Teams interface by adding the app to a policy.

1. In the Microsoft Teams admin center, navigate to Teams apps > Manage apps.

2. Search for the “ConductorOne” app in your app catalog.

3. Navigate to Teams apps > Setup policies.

4. On the Manage policies tab, click the Global (Org-wide default) policy.

   If desired, you can create and use a custom policy here instead of the global policy.

5. On the policy’s page, click Add apps and search for “ConductorOne”.

6. Click Select, then click Add to add the ConductorOne app to the policy.

7. Optional. Add the ConductorOne app to the list of apps pinned to your organization’s Teams sidebar.

Step 2: Connect the ConductorOne Microsoft Teams app

Next, connect the ConductorOne app for use in your organization’s Microsoft Teams directory.

1. In ConductorOne, navigate to Admin > Settings > Notifications.

2. In the Microsoft Teams section of the page, click Connect.

3. You’ll be directed to Microsoft Teams. Follow the prompts and review the permissions in Microsoft that the ConductorOne app requires:

   • Organization.Read.All - used to fetch the tenant hostname
   • User.Read.All - used to look up Teams users by email

That’s it! You’ll be directed back to the ConductorOne Settings page, where you’ll see that your Microsoft Teams directory is now connected.

Need to connect to additional Teams directories? No problem. Sign in to Microsoft Teams as an admin on the directory you want to connect and repeat the steps above.

Set up the ConductorOne MS Teams app on an individual workstation

If a Teams admin at your organization has not automatically added the ConductorOne app to your organization’s Teams interface, you can set it up on your workstation yourself. Here’s what to do:

1. In the Microsoft Teams app marketplace, navigate to the ConductorOne app or search for “ConductorOne” and download the app.

   If the app isn’t available, check with an admin to ensure that they’ve completed the installation steps above.

   If the app is available but you receive an error asking you to contact an admin, ensure they’ve completed the configuration process above.

That’s it! You’re set up and ready to work with ConductorOne from the comfort of your Teams interface.

Disconnect the ConductorOne MS Teams app

Fully disconnecting the ConductorOne integration and removing the app is a two-step process.

Step 1: Disconnect from ConductorOne

1. In ConductorOne, navigate to Admin > Settings > Notifications.

2. In the Microsoft Teams section of the page, find the Teams directory you want to disconnect and click Remove.

The integration between your ConductorOne tenant and your Teams directory is now severed.

Step 2: Remove the Enterprise Application from Entra ID

This task requires the Global Administrator or Application Administrator role in Entra ID.

1. Log into the Entra ID Admin Center.

2. Navigate to Enterprise Applications > All applications.

3. Find and select the “ConductorOne” app.

4. Click Properties, then select Delete and confirm your choice.

That’s it! The app is removed from your Entra ID instance, and its Organization.Read.All and User.Read.All permissions have been fully disconnected from your ConductorOne tenant.
